A Place Where Children and Families Grow Together

Geary Foster Foundations is more than a collection of foster homes. It is a purposefully designed community where children experience safety, support, and the freedom to simply be children again. Set on 12 peaceful acres in Grayson County, Texas, the GFF campus brings together independent foster homes, shared amenities, and dedicated foster parents who work alongside one another to provide stability and belonging to the children in their care.

A Community Designed With Intention

Every part of the GFF community was built with children and families in mind. Instead of placing foster parents in isolated homes spread out across large counties, GFF created a neighborhood where families live within walking distance of one another. This environment allows parents to collaborate, share wisdom, and step in when help is needed. Children can play outside, visit friends, ride bikes, and feel safe in a space designed to nurture their confidence and independence.

At the center of the campus sits a large pavilion known as the “heart of the community.” It serves as a gathering place for celebrations, family events, volunteer programs, and shared meals. Nearby, the sports court gives children an outlet for recreation, teamwork, and healthy physical activity. A community garden offers opportunities to learn responsibility, patience, and the joy of watching something grow. Every space on the property contributes to a sense of normalcy and stability that is often missing when children first enter foster care.

Homes That Offer Safety and Stability

Each foster home in the community is independently licensed and operated by foster parents committed to caring for up to six children. The homes are designed to accommodate sibling groups, allowing brothers and sisters to stay together and maintain their most important relationships. Living within a supportive neighborhood ensures that children experience consistent care, trusted adults, and a sense of belonging that strengthens their emotional well-being.

The community model also lightens the load for foster parents. Instead of navigating challenges alone, they are surrounded by neighbors who understand the realities of fostering and are ready to encourage, assist, or simply share daily life. This structure reduces burnout, increases placement stability, and strengthens the relationships critical to helping children heal.

A Growing Vision for the Future

What began with a single foster home has grown into a vibrant, nurturing community, and the vision continues to expand. GFF currently operates three homes with plans to build eight in total. Future development includes a 3,000-square-foot community center that will serve as a shared space for tutoring, mentoring, counseling, training, enrichment classes, and administrative needs. This center will allow GFF to deepen its support for children and foster parents while expanding programs that promote emotional, academic, and social growth.

As the community grows, so does the impact. More homes mean more children who can remain with their siblings. More resources means stronger support for parents. And more shared space means greater opportunities for connection, education, and healing.

A Place to Heal. A Place to Belong.

The GFF community is proof that foster care can look different, and better. By surrounding families with consistent support and giving children access to stability, friendship, and shared experiences, this community helps rewrite the story for those who have experienced trauma and uncertainty.

Every home built is a safe haven. Every shared space is a place of growth. Every family that joins the community becomes part of a larger mission to ensure that every child in foster care has the opportunity to feel secure, valued, and hopeful about their future.
